Wendy McCann is an expert communicator, with 20+ years as an award-winning Journalist at The Canadian Press news service, a member of the inner circle of the Ontario Government and in an executive Communications and Public Affairs role at the Council of Ontario Universities.
At The Canadian Press, Wendy McCann was on the front-lines of Canadian journalism reporting on the top national stories of the day to Canadians from coast-to-coast and providing news on everything from politics to crime and national disasters to 600+ newsrooms. She provided political commentary to television viewers of Global TV through the weekly Focus Ontario show, and offered analysis on major news stories through CBC Radio and CBC Newsworld.
Wendy McCann spent years as a managing editor, both as Ontario Bureau Chief and for a time as Ottawa Bureau Chief, where she led a team of reporters covering Parliament Hill.

Wendy McCann spent six years as Senior Director of Communications for the Council of Ontario Universities, advocating as a member of the Senior Management Team for students and the value of universities. There, she successfully spearheaded a rebranding of the organization and led the development of a multi-year, multi-media campaign to develop a new value proposition for universities.
She founded Wendy McCann Consulting in 2019 and has since provided communications and advocacy services to a wide range of clients including Canada’s top boutique law firms, federally funded health and health data organizations, universities and colleges, and publicly funded labour market organizations.
